Description
Rare! One of only five six footers we’ve ever had. A Bally Block made in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. (Bally merged with Michigan Maple out of Petoskey, Michigan back in the 1920’s), this was in service in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Tongue and groove construction, the block itself is 30 1/2″ wide, 70 1/2″ long, 15 1/2″ thick (really thick). Almost 15 square feet of work space. Vertically tongue and grooved, six threaded rods go through the block and help hold it together. Original 18″ maple legs make the block sit 33 1/2″. Had Bally paper logo on end (see pictures) that did not survive refinishing. Sanded three times, has been refinished in mineral oil the way your great grandparents would have used it. Ready to go! On display in Chamblee, Georgia Warehouse. Note to self: Block weighs over 1000 lbs.
