Description
Another Oldie Goldie that’s been well cared for. A Double Dovetailed Butcher Block from Findlay, Ohio, 30 1/2″ x 50 1/2″ x 16″ thick (really thick), it’s date stamped on the bottom (see pictures) of o440 (April 1940, making it 84 years young at this publishing. Four very slight valleys in the top suggest is sat in the middle of a meat market, and four butchers, two on each side, worked their “corners”. Over four feet long, and two and a half wide, you get over ten square feet of working space. Block sits 34″ high on original 18″ hard maple square legs (can be changed, raised). Vertically dovetailed, six threaded rods go through the block and hold it together. Sanded thrice, has been refinished in mineral oil (the way your great grandparents would have used it).
